About Gnometastic

UNT offers courses in game programming in both 2D and 3D, although they are sadly too Windows-centric. I took 2D in Fall 2005 and 3D in Spring 2006. Both demos are available to download, although I warn you that they are not production-quality code.

System Requirements

  • Windows PC with a DirectX 9.0c compatible video card (Tested on an nVidia 5200 and 6800GT)
  • DirectX 9.0c (Aug 2005) or newer
  • A bit of hard drive space

Description

Basically it's a 2D side scroller with a little bit of dynamic lighting. Nothing terribly earth-shattering but it does involve killing rats with a bazooka (no blood). For us it was a big exercise on working with DirectX, artists, and deadlines.
