About Duck Hunt

UNT offers courses in game programming in both 2D and 3D, although they are sadly too Windows-centric. I took 2D in Fall 2005 and 3D in Spring 2006. Both demos are available to download, although I warn you that they are not production-quality code.

System Requirements

  • Windows PC with a DirectX 9.0c compatible video card (Tested on an ATI X300, X1600, and nVidia 5200, 6600, and 6800GT)
  • DirectX 9.0c (Dec 2005) or newer
  • A bit of hard drive space

This game is pretty much the original Nintendo Duck Hunt adapted for 3D hardware, making gratuitous use of shaders for fire and smoke. There are several levels that get successively harder, so don't give up early thinking it's boring.

Be sure to try holding down the mouse button for Uzi mode.

Latest stable verison is duckgame-20060509.zip, or browse the distribution directory for older versions.
