The Subject

The Wind Power Museum in Lubbock, TX shows off many different varieties of windmills. Both wood- and metal-vaned ones can be seen in this panorama. Visitors to the museum will be shocked by the size of some of the windmills up close, with exhibits in the building that bring the mechanism down to eye level so you can see what's going on.

There are about a hundred windmills of various sizes on display inside and outside the facility, including many several which are the last of their kind in existence. For more information, visit the museum website - http://windmill.com/.

Technical Information

Taken with a Nikon Coolpix 995+Kiwi 995 with the Nikon FC-E8 fisheye lens. Stitching was done with PTGui+Enblend+Meticulous tweaking in Photoshop.

Six photos were taken for the horizon, with two photos each for the zenith (straight up) and nadir (straight down). Some additional photos were needed to clean up the shadows.
